Season 3 Recap

The kill squad has arrived and Alexa must work quickly to ensure the Starks make it out alive.



Believing Alexa is the reason behind their unexpected visitors, Joan confronts Gavin who kindly explains she has it all wrong about the woman he loves.



For the first time, Gavin comes face-to-face with what Alexa really is and finds it a little hard to believe. Although nothing is said outright, he begins to suspect Alexa may be a government plant sent to protect his family.



Capturing one of the thugs alive, Alexa questions him to learn the name behind the hit: WET, an organization she has never heard of and one she must investigate.



Kasper once again finds himself in trouble, taken by armed thugs. Now Alexa must go after him, leaving a worried Gavin to fend for himself.



The police question the Starks about the shootout at their home but they are unable to point them in any helpful direction. Meanwhile, Gavin confronts his Dad about his affairs believing this to be the cause behind the attack.



During Alexa and Kasper’s daring escape, they are accidentally caught on video by a passerby at the very moment Alexa executes one of their pursuers.

A breaking news report gets Gavin’s attention when he finds that Alexa’s car was one of the vehicles spotted in a high-speed chase with police downtown. And goes on a mission to find her and bring her home. Later, Gavin learns that Alexa’s car had been torched and he is unable to reach her by phone.

Alexa and Kasper feel as though they are one step behind. And when their likenesses show up on a news report and wanted posters around town, they realize desperate measures are in order.

With their plan all set, Alexa breaks into the police station to destroy any evidence they may have gathered thus far from both the crime scene as well as the footage taken by a civilian eyewitness.

But this does little to dissuade their pursuers and they find themselves on the run and looking for a place to lay low. Alexa, having thought ahead, has a cabin in the woods. She and Kasper only have to make it there first.

The matter of running for their lives and the fear of dying at any moment sends Kasper into Alexa’s arms only this time, she doesn’t turn him away. The two become closer than they’ve ever been when Alexa takes Kasper’s virginity.

Once things calm down a little for them, Alexa and Kasper begin their hunt for the client and the men after them. Their first lead: WET, the company name given to them during Alexa’s encounter with a hitman at the Stark mansion.

Alexa takes a trip inside the belly of the beast to aid Kasper’s attempt to gain Intel. While inside, she has a sit down meeting with two of the company’s commanding officers but neither are certain they had anything to do with the hit.

Outside, Alexa finds herself in a dangerous situation as she’s once again made to run but, this time, they turn to the welcoming arms of an old friend.

And while they wait on help from another of Alexa’s old contacts, she and Mary recall the last night Alexa called St. Peter’s Catholic Church home.

With Detective Monroe’s help, Alexa fakes her death in order to give Gavin a little closure as well as lose the heat she and Kasper created in St. Claire.

However, Gavin’s not fooled by the body double and turns to his friend in the department for help. Now with strong suspicion his fiancée is alive, Gavin has made it his mission to find her and bring her home.

Chapter 05: Goes Unpunished

“Police are asking for your help locating two suspects who may have been involved with the events that took place Wednesday near the St. Claire Civic Center. These sketches were taken of two individuals seen fleeing the area just moments after an unidentified man was brutally gunned down on the corner of Market and Parke. If you have any information or know the identity of these individuals, please contact the St. Claire Police Department at the number provided on the screen.”

Chapter 03: Point Blank

“Keep moving!” Alexa shouted over her shoulder at the slowing Kasper. “My car’s just ahead.” She dove behind the wheel of her Audi and unlocked the door for him.

Out of breath and limping, he finally slid into the seat beside her and Alexa peeled away from the curb. “Don’t look now, A, but we’ve got company,” he sighed, noticing his SUV and a black Escalade merge behind them in the rearview. They fired at them and Alexa shouted for Kasper to get down as she rolled down her window to return fire, striking the front bumper of the lead vehicle.

Chapter 02: To Catch a Predator

“Hannah!” Gavin yelled, chasing after her as she quickly rushed towards her Audi. She grabbed a small, black duffel bag from beneath the spare tire in her trunk and tossed it onto the passenger seat. “Hannah, will you stop, please?”

“Gavin, get your family to a hotel and call the police.”

“And what are you going to do?”

“I have to find my friend.”

“Alright, then I’m coming with you.”

“No, you’re not. It’s too dangerous.”

“And how is it any safer for you?”

“It isn’t. But unlike you, I’ve had extensive training in combat, can you say the same?” she asked and waited for his response. “Like I said, get your family to a hotel. I’ll call you when I’m done.”

“Wait a second, that’s it? You’ll call when you’re done?”

Chapter 01: First Sign of Danger

“Is everyone alright?” Alexa asked, walking around each Stark and examining them for injuries.

“We’re fine, Hannah!” Travis nearly shouted as he and his family gathered in the kitchen. “Now would you please tell us what is going on? Who was just shooting at us?”

“Travis, there’s something you need to know,” she paused and listened intently.

“Continue,” Travis urged, frustrated and tired as he worried about his family’s safety. The lights cut out and both Melissa and Dylan cried.

“Shh, it’ll be ok,” Alexa said, doing her best to calm them.

“Don’t say that! You don’t know that for sure,” Melissa whined in response.

“Quiet!” Everyone stilled and Alexa glanced at the double glass doors near the back patio. “Someone’s coming.”

Season 2 Recap

Alexa is back to work and on a case that turns her stomach: the gang rape of a college student by four fraternity brothers. And after a disagreement with Travis on how to handle the case, Alexa is forced to offer the men a deal that would see them serving a mere three years behind bars.

Chapter 03: Vital Signs

Billowing black smoke curled into the sky as the 60-foot vessel burned. Flames licked up the sides of the ship, growing taller and darker as more fuel fed the blaze. The explosion had rocked the pier, sending Alexa careening backwards and landing hard on the wooden dock. Gavin was nowhere in sight.

“GAVIN!” Alexa yelled, pulling herself from the ground as she frantically looked around the water and shore for him. “GAVIN!”

“No!” she heard Joan gasp behind her as she and her husband rushed toward the end of the pier. “Gavin? Gavin!” The sounds of sirens could be heard in the distance as the panicked family continued searching the wreckage for their missing loved one.

Chapter 02: Blown Away

A grizzly scene was discovered earlier this morning at the Alpha
Delta Rho fraternity house at Manchester State University.
Four men were found brutally tortured and mutilated in their own beds.
Police have identified the victims as Ben Rowlands,
Christian Fellows, Ross Patterson, and Thomas Flynn. These men were
recently on trial for the gang rape of a fellow University
student Nina McCarthy. Police at this time
have no suspects and no arrests have been made.

Chapter 01: A Game of Cat and Mouse

“I know it’s difficult,” Alexa gently spoke, moving a little closer to the witness stand. “But, Nina, could you please walk us through the events of that night.”

“They said it was like golf,” Nina McCarthy cried as she recalled details of the night she was gang raped by a group of fraternity brothers. “They said I was the ‘hole’ in their game of stroke play. It was funny to them. The louder I cried, the more points they scored and they did everything they could to make me scream. I was burned, slapped, kicked, punched…they tortured me!”

“It went on for hours,” she sobbed, drying her eyes as she looked over at the defendants. “When they were finally done, they dumped me out on the street in front of the hospital naked and bleeding. They threatened that if I told anyone what happened, they’d come back and do it again.”

Season 1 Recap

Completing a mission, Alexa heads off to her next assignment in St. Claire. There, she makes the acquaintance of Gavin Stark, an earnest car mechanic with dreams of owning his own business.

Chapter 10: It's a Trap!

Shots rang out beside Alexa as the innocent bystanders occupying the platform all screamed and ran for cover. Removing her weapon, she pulled from around the corner and began firing wildly in the men’s direction, watching as they scattered behind stationary objects themselves. Gradually she walked backwards, down toward the next column, placing her back against it as a black suit stood up on the left side of the stairwell.

He shot rapidly toward her, knocking bits of cement and plaster from the wall onto her head as she ducked for cover. From what she could see, the man was using a Ruger SR9B Semi-Automatic pistol. It had a 17-round magazine capability and he’d already fired at her 12 times. Alexa counted the next five shots, held her breath and jumped up returning five of her own, being sure to stop before her gun clicked.

Chapter 06: Anonymous

“Morning, neighbor,” Alexa sang as she exited her apartment door. “Sleep well?”

“Like a baby,” he answered back, stepping away from his front door and tossing a smile at her. Slowly he strolled over, trying to keep his eyes on hers but failing as he noticed her dress hugged every individual curve of her body. “So don’t forget, you and I have a lunch date today and dinner tomorrow night.”

“Dinner? When did I agree to dinner?”

“Just now, you don’t remember?” he fiddled with the mail in his hands, flipping the largest envelope with his fingers as he waited on her to respond.

“Hmm, refresh my memory.” 

Chapter 05: Can’t Hurt Them

*Author’s note: This chapter is dreadfully long...sorry! You ask “Did I really need to include the court case?” And I answer: “Yes. Yes I did.” You can skim or skip it really. You won’t miss anything pertinent to the main story. I just couldn’t stop writing so...yeah.*

“Did you hear me, Hannah?” Travis asked, placing the folder face up on her desk.

She stared at the black file a moment trying to make sense of what was going on. The State’s Attorney had just walked into her office and personally handed her a case. Having just come off a win, she was already abuzz with excitement as to where she’d go next. But this was unprecedented and she was stumped trying to figure out the catch. “I’m sorry, sir,” she replied, suddenly zoning back into the conversation. “You want me to what?”

Chapter 03: It Pays the Bills

“Good morning, I’m here to meet with Travis Stark,” Alexa smiled kindly at the receptionist after entering the large office building of the high-profile litigator. It had been a week since she interviewed for the Assistant State’s Attorney position and after the brief mention of her job hunt to Gavin, she’d forgotten about the opening. Instead, Alexa had resigned herself to finding another alternative into the life of her target. So, when she got home from last night’s surveillance and found a message on her machine from Stark’s office, needless to say she was more than pleasantly surprised.
