Season 1 Recap

Completing a mission, Alexa heads off to her next assignment in St. Claire. There, she makes the acquaintance of Gavin Stark, an earnest car mechanic with dreams of owning his own business.

Soon she meets Tobias Wells, a powerhouse attorney with eyes on becoming the next deputy state’s attorney. Little does Alexa know at the time Tobias will become a force to be reckoned with.

With a day’s work under her belt, Gavin makes the confession his dad, Travis Stark, is the reason Alexa was hired at the State’s Attorney’s office. And finally, Alexa has come face-to-face with the true target of her mission.

In order to effectively execute her plan, Alexa ingratiates herself into Gavin’s life, pumping him for information and tidbits that even Kasper’s research is unable to uncover. And Gavin, blindly falling for Alexa’s charms, is eager to tell her anything she wants to know.

Unfortunately, not all is going as planned. Tobias decides to play his hand, increasing his flirtatious advances to the point he and Alexa come to blows. In doing so, Alexa finds her miscalculation of the man may become a huge problem later.

After an incredible win on a hugely publicized court case, Alexa’s face makes it to the news before Kasper is able to reign in all of the media outlets and someone from Alexa’s past finds himself staring at a ghost.

Meanwhile, the Starks throw a fundraiser where Alexa is introduced to the remaining three members of the family: Joan, Melissa and Dylan. It’s obvious from the onset that the two women have strong opinions of her that she brushes off. There is already enough to deal with.

During the gala, Tobias again confronts Alexa but, this time, he finds himself on the receiving end of Gavin’s fist. He and Alexa flee the scene before Travis’ wrath is turned on them and he takes her back to his place.

Alexa and Gavin finally make good on their alone time and the two of them seal the deal. Their closeness being Alexa’s ultimate goal in order to successful complete her mission.

During her night with Gavin, Alexa discovers what he was hiding in the envelope she saw him with earlier that day. Travis Stark is being blackmailed with pictures of him and his mistresses and she realizes the contract with the Starks is much worse than she originally thought.

Later, part of Tobias’ scheme is revealed when, during a moment in court, he calls Alexa by the name of a previous identity. Alexa quickly reaches out to Kasper for damage control but, she must now discover how much Tobias truly knows.

After being unable to reach her partner in crime, Alexa hears a knock on her door and is surprised to find herself standing face-to-face with the man behind the screen: Kasper Grant. He tells her that they’ve had a breach and it’s possible her identity and location have been revealed.

That fact becomes obvious when Alexa has a deadly shootout at the train station. And now, with the threat of death looming, she and Kasper must carefully consider their next move.

Believing the mission is a bust, Alexa makes plans to pick up and run but, Kasper convinces her to stick it out. Their plan is to move closer to the family. Using this opportunity, Alexa becomes a guest in the Starks’ home in order to complete the mission.

Later that day, Travis Stark reveals a key piece of information that may have placed him on a hit list in the first place: he is running for Governor on the basis of stopping corruption wherever it takes him. The person or persons that hired Alexa and Kasper to murder Stark won’t be happy.
