Season 2 Recap

Alexa is back to work and on a case that turns her stomach: the gang rape of a college student by four fraternity brothers. And after a disagreement with Travis on how to handle the case, Alexa is forced to offer the men a deal that would see them serving a mere three years behind bars.

Unsettled by the outcome of the case, Alexa bides her time. Breaking one of her own rules, she finds herself waiting outside the home of the accused rapists for her opportunity to right a wrong the justice system could not.

Finding life in the Stark mansion anything but glamorous, Alexa struggles to maintain a civil relationship with the matriarch Joan and Gavin’s baby sister Melissa. Joan, in an effort to learn Alexa’s intentions, invites her for a ride through the countryside and uses the moment to warn Alexa she will not let her harm her son.

Unflustered, Alexa joins the family on an outing to the marina for a trip on the family’s yacht. But things don’t go as planned when gas in the water causes a fire to trigger, causing the yacht to explode with Gavin onboard.

Concussed, bruised and a little banged up, Gavin survives the explosion and during his hospital stay, confirms a decision he’d been contemplating a little over a month: propose to Alexa. And while Joan was none too pleased to hear it, Gavin was certain he was making the right decision.

But Gavin’s survival of his near-death experience isn’t all good news. Alexa is suspected and questioned by the police. Being the closest to him at the time of the explosion, they think she may know more than she’s letting on.

And while Alexa is taking care of Gavin at the hospital, Kasper makes moves on his own. Taking up a new client without thoroughly vetting them puts him in a precarious situation. With a little ingenuity, Alexa is able to raid the place he is being held and get him out relatively unharmed.

Later, Gavin takes Alexa to a car show event in town where they both find themselves in love with a sports car dream machine. Pulling out all the stops, she buys him the Pagani and he reciprocates by professing his love for her and Alexa begins to realize she feels the same way.

But love is not the only emotion bubbling to Alexa’s surface. Guilt and remorse are causing sleepless nights and stress for the once hardened assassin. And images of her family are constantly running through her mind.

Alexa and Kasper can’t catch a break as a blast from the past finally makes it to St. Claire. Not only that, he’s located Alexa’s job through the media attention and the only other person with a vendetta against the assassin. The two decide to work together to mess up the life Alexa’s created.

Finally locating the object of his desire, Nolan confronts Alexa on her beach date with Gavin and things get heated. Mistaken for the ex-boyfriend Alexa fears, Gavin attacks Nolan, catching him off guard and running him off before he realizes what has happened.

Angry and seeking revenge, Nolan provides Tobias with pictures of Alexa that he uses to get her under his thumb. The pictures are proof positive of what he’s suspected all along: she isn’t who she claims to be.

Learning Tobias has something that doesn’t belong to him, Gavin sets out to get it back, against Alexa’s advice, causing an even bigger rift between her and her fellow attorney.

Taking Kasper’s advice, Alexa goes to talk to Nolan in hopes of settling their issues and finds a way for the both of them to move on in peace.

After ridding themselves of Nolan, Alexa and Kasper come up with a plan to get Tobias under control: blackmail. And there is nothing Tobias fears more than losing his reputation in the eyes of the public.

Alexa finds a ring in Gavin’s sock drawer and, grasping the opportunity, Gavin proposes to Alexa but doesn’t get quite the response he was hoping for. Instead of a yes, he agrees to give Alexa time to think about it.

Kasper records a call Travis receives on his home office line from an unknown contact. Since the blackmail didn’t work, they’ve upped the stakes. Now his family’s life is on the line and Travis must decide how to respond.

Alexa accepts Gavin’s proposal but, before either of them have the chance to celebrate, Alexa gets a call from Kasper. The client has sent more men after them and before long they’ll be at the Stark Mansion.

In a moment of clarity, tired of running and hiding, Alexa finds herself ready to reveal herself to Gavin. But, before she gets the chance, the house explodes in a cascade of bullets, shattering glass and screams.
